Our Pacific View project was truly a special one to be a part of. Our clients had contacted us back in 2017 to start the remodel process of this home that they had purchased back in 1999. They had a vision of a contemporary home nestled amongst the hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

We brought in the Coastal Modern gurus, Pack Design Group, to work with the homeowners on the Architecture and Design of the home. They created a beautiful “H” style plan, complete with two Master suites, one den and guest room, and a powder, gym and garage on the other wing. Dividing the two spaces is a beautiful open floor plan of the kitchen, living room and dining room.

The kitchen and living room space is probably my favorite. Wide plank engineered wood floors ground the space, while the warm cedar ceiling treatment packs a design punch.

When picking out finishes for these spaces, we wanted to bring the outdoors in. We were inspired by the ocean, the blue and green tones, and also the contrast of a warm textured element. This can be seen in the use of the granite countertops, tile, and the introduction of smooth wood tones in the fireplace mantle and on the hood surround. We kept the interior walls super light but wanted just the slightest hint of warmth.

Two spine walls are clad in a beautiful white stone and the material is carried inside and out. Paired with smooth stucco, cedar ceiling and siding treatment and an accoya deck, this exterior is full of intriguing textures and colors. The exterior deck is as large as the living room, so we can totally see the clients decking out this space once their landscaping is completed!
